Jerry Richardson announces that Fox and his entire staff will not return in 2011

I hope jerry ships steve smiths ass with john fox we dont need him anymore or his drama.

and I totally agree.

Smith should not be allowed to poo talk our rookie QBs. I don't want him f**king with Luck. Smitty is not a QB or a leader who can teach, he is a feisty winner and should be traded to a team that is focusing on winning now.

It's not that he can't but does JR trust him that much, willing to give him that much control? I guess it all depends on who picks the new staff. Just seems unlikely to go with a coach who has yet to head coach a single NFL game and let him pick his own staff, not something I would expect from JR.

I would agree with you if JR had also said Marty wouldn't be returning as well. However he didn't say that so I'm assuming Marty will be back and he would be part of the decision making process when it comes to the new coaching staff.....

My point is that it's odd they didn't just save this for Monday since there is still the one game left.

I can't wait to see this game and see if the fired coaches mail it in. I know I would if I was on that staff. What point is there to not to? The players won't mail it in so it will make for a very interesting contrast to watch.

Hopefully Fox has more respect for himself, his coaches, the organization and the game than to do that.

Makes me think they have a plan in place already, otherwise why do this now instead of Monday or Sunday night? They want to get this over with just as bad as us.

Maybe he does have a plan in place and hopefully it involves one coach and one player from Palo Alto :D.....

I'm one that is glad Meeks is not being retained. His defense is vanilla, and has looked decent just due to how bad our offense has been.

If our offense was average this year, everyone would be biting at Meeks head for how poor our defense has played in some games.

Pride alone wouldn't let the coaches mail it in methinks

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
