Cam Newton will never be a Panther. KT will insist that it's a racial thing, but in reality, it's because he's found his way into too much controversy with the alleged PC theft, grade fixing, and his daddy's dealings. Not worth the gamble.

The PC theft was actually not alleged, he was convicted for it, and had to do community service. I BELIEVE he didn't actually steal it though. He simply bought it knowing it was stolen.

The grade fixing is all rumor, there's actually been no allegations brought forward to the NCAA that I'm aware of.

His daddy's dealings... well... that's over and done with. The NCAA completed their investigations. He didn't get affected by it. (For the record, I think the NCAA capitulated on this one to political and financial motivators, and didn't treat the situation fairly in regards to other incidents of similar nature.)

Since there's really nothing that can be pinned on him, apart from the laptop, I don't think there's going to be any sort of hesitation by the Panthers to take him if Luck doesn't declare (well, if Marty Hurney is still our GM, we might not because he's a moron).

I just don't think it's a deal killer. The kid just wanted to get paid. Who doesn't? If most of us were telling the truth, we'd do it if we thought we could get away with it (which may be stupid unto itself). The Newtons apparently couldn't see the forest for the trees. Or maybe they did because Cam is going to laugh his way all the way to the bank, notwithstanding some suspicious dealings. But kid had/has the talent to pull it off.
