Jaws on Luck

I did not expect to see Jaws ringing endorsement of Clausen, but he was not alone in his thinking. Jaws is very good at breaking down coverages from the end zone cam and explaining what is going on. This is interesting to me because we don't see that angle on TV, or even the DBs most of the time. Heck, Jaws likes everyone.

Well, here's as perspective about Jaws' DA-ness. He said this about Peyton Manning back in late October of this year.

http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/10/28/peyton-manning-discounts-mnf-commentator-ron-jaworskis-critique/

"The last couple weeks, as I've studied Peyton Manning, he has not been real sharp. Maybe there does come a time when the skills start to diminish a little bit. ... I'm not saying it is, but I'm seeing little signs now that the deep sideline throws are not as accurate as they used to be, there's not the zip on the ball that there used to be. Maybe father time might be catching up with Peyton Manning a little bit."

Guess who's #1 in passing yards going into the last game this year?

Yep. Peyton Manning.

(He's #4 in completion percentage, and #11 in rating)

Oh noes, looks like he's slipping!

Maybe we should all agree to never mention anything said by Ron Jaworski ever again?

I think it is safe to say that John Fox does'nt give a rat's ass about the development of jimmy clausen, and i doubt that Davidson was capable of coming up with a gameplan to help the kid.

I am not saying that I think that jimmy could be a top teir qb, but with the right coaching, he probably can become an average talent.

Hmm. Seems we had that with a QB already before the draft this year.

Maybe there is something to the Jaworski curse....

Before the Patriots and Dolphins game in Week 4

Jaworski, a former 17-year NFL quarterback who now spends hours each week locked into the video vault at NFL Films breaking down game tape, raved about Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne, whom he said is “ascending at a nice pace every single week.”

“It’s not up and down, up and down,” Jaworski said. “I see improvements in his game all the time, and he’s being well-coached.”

Right after Mike Vick joined the Eagles..

It was clear during the interview that Jaws does not support the move. In fact, he said the Eagles are probably No. 32 on his list of teams where Vick would be a good fit.

"I believe of 32 cities where he could go, I think Philadelphia would be number 32," he said. "I mean it’s a very tough, passionate town. He’s not gonna be able to fly under the radar. Everywhere he goes, he’s Michael Vick. He’s a star. He’s in a city that has incredible passion and enthusiasm for the game of football. I think he’s really going to be under the microscope. Being in Philadelphia, I don’t think is the right spot for Michael Vick."

The week before the epic 45-3 beatdown that the Patriots put on the Jets...

"Tom Brady has not solved that Jets defense,” Jaworski said on ESPN Radio. “You just watch the areas of the field where he attacks. He struggles to the outside, the middle of the field, missing blitz pressures. This Jets defense has Tom Brady’s number. And until Tom Brady can solve that defense, this offense is going to struggle.”

lol, nice finds.

Seriously though, all you have to do is watch a MNF game with a couple big names in it, and at least twice, Jon Gruden will punk Jaws for saying some just totally moronic BS. It's actually really hilarious if you're listening for it.

The fact Jaworski is still calling games sorta shows what a joke ESPN is. If it wasn't for Gruden, it's be almost unwatchable.

Jaworski is very good on ESPN. I prefer watching him over just about any other announcer. Doesn't mean he is good at judging who will be a successful QB.

Seriously? Even though he often sounds like he's spitting when he talks, you like him calling games?

I don't believe you. I think you're just trollin me, aren't you?
