Schefter still believes Harbaugh ends up in Michigan and thinks the Niners will "have a hard time" getting him.

He firmly believes there's no way he stays at Stanford, which leads him to believe Luck is gone as well.

That would be the best option if he's doesn't come here I would think. Right? That would mean Luck would be less likely to ask for a trade to the niners. Just my opinion.

I'll be honest. If Luck won't play for anyone but Harbaugh, and won't come to play for the Panthers, fug him. Seriously. If a trade is made without him pushing for one etc that is fine (fine being I dont hold it against him but I hate our FO). I understand the 49ers will probably give up literally an entire draft or two for him... but if he comes out and says he won't play for us and wants to go specifically to San Fran to be with Harbaugh, grah.

I don't think he'll do that. Nothing I've read makes me think he is like that.

he is probably the last direct transition to make it big though.

I am moving to the camp that Harbaugh is NOT the answer as HC. I think he is talented, but there are very, very few college coaches that successfully make the leap to the NFL. He would be a VERY risky hire.
