What will Armanti Edwards be doing next season?

like i said in a thread yesterday, say smith stays and we sign another proven vet... and then gettis and lafell show even more progress... there is no room for AE. i don't think he gets cut, but i dont think he plays WR either. maybe he plays special teams just because hurney is still around.

What was his major?

I thought it was graphic design.

It got brought up when he signed the back of someone's card and he drew a terrible football(I think), it looked like a blind dog ate a blue crayon and threw up on the back of this card.

No way he went/passed any classes based on that drawing.

I see him being incorporated into our new offensive scheme and getting some reps as a PR/KR as well. I think the kid has great potential and really just needs to bulk up and get some confidence.

None of us should be hating on a Panther who has yet to see the field. Wish and hope for the best and let the man exceed our expectations. The trade to get AE was made, it's in the past, the only thing we can do now is hope and support him.

i agree with you definitely. i think everyone here would love to see him blow up the field. i just dont think the odds are in his favor. he's pretty much going to be last on the depth chart unless he gets it together real quick. i think we'll know a little more when we find out if smith will be a panther next year.

I see him being incorporated into our new offensive scheme and getting some reps as a water boy or clipboard holder as well. I think the kid has great potential to warm the bench and really just needs to bulk up and get some hands.

None of us should be hating on a Panther who has yet to surpass the practice squad. Wish and hope for the best and let the man exceed our expectations. The trade to get AE was terrible, it's in the past, the only thing we can do now is groan and cry over our lost 2nd round pick.

Fixed :)

we have seen nothing of him to make a judgement.....and he was a project coming in. I do know he is a much better athlete than Gettis or LaFell. His friends clearly have said he just isn't comfortable. When he does get comfortable....I wouldn't just assume Gettis/LaFell will automatically be better overall WRs.

There's no way that Armanti is a better overall athlete than Gettis. Gettis ran a 4.47 40 at the Combine (4.39 at his pro day), put up 15 reps in the bench, had a 34.5" vertical, and was 3rd among WRs in the broad jump - at 6'3" 216.

The only thing I can find on Armanti is a 4.43 40 at his pro day.

I really wanted Armanti to succeed and I hope that he still will. It's just that the little we've seen out of him has given me nothing to think that he will. We're a 2 win team right now. If Armanti could help us, he'd be out there. He looked terrible as a return man in the preseason. It's clear that the staff was trying to gift wrap that job for him. We'll see if another offseason will see him settle into a return man and slot WR role, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it does though.

Why not? Plenty of you are hating on a rookie thrust into a shite situation AND fawning over a kid that i) hasn't even declared yet and ii) has a long way to go to live up to the hype).

No, lots of rookies a thrust into roles before they are ready. Clausen is just garbage. There isn't a rookie QB Clausen's looks better than this year that has seen the field. Also, Clausen's situation ain't as horrific as some like to claim. Clausen brings everyone on the field with him down a few notches and there is nothing they can do about that.
