Quick Question....

The word about Locker last year was that he had a chance to overtake Bradford at #1 IF he did really well at his workout. Many think the Rams would have taken Bradford anyway even though he missed most the season because he was more polished and had better intangibles at that time.

I asked something like this in a thread a couple weeks ago. Plunkett is really the only player who was a sure bet to go number one that didn't, and a big part of why he didn't had to do with setting a positive example for other Mexicans.

Back then the money wasn't near what it is now, and Luck probably doesn't care about whether white people stay in school or not, so I think he declares.

It rarely happens. So rarely that it would be huge news if he did choose to go back for another year. Honestly though, and this is about as unbiased as it gets, he's not going to find a team that fell so far down next year that has as many pieces in place to win games as this Carolina team does. Namely, a running game that can dominate the opposition and a defense that can put him in position to win.

Say he stays in school and a team like Oakland gets the pick next year. Or even worse, a team with an incumbent starter that isn't going anywhere.

The team has a huge need at the position. The player stands to lose a lot by not coming out immediately. The opportunity to possibly bring his head coach with him to Carolina is also a consideration, as unlikely as some make that seem.

I wish I had a good enough memory to recollect why Manning stayed in school, but there had to be ulterior motives at work there too. Rarely do players pass up the money.

no offense dude but everyone believes their team "has the pieces"

it's the same as "blame the officers"

easier to think you need to replace 10 white dudes than 52 black dudes

I think it does have a ring of truth to it though in this case. We have the only two backs in NFL history to run for 1,100 yards each in a season and this year has provided us the opportunity to find even more legit backs. The running game is the best friend of a rookie QB and our offensive line has three guys that have been to the pro bowl or have been alternates... unless I am remembering wrong with Otah. Our line had a bad year, but they're not a bad line. Plus, can anybody really question the defensive side of the ball this year?

I mean, I know it's very homerish to say but we're the best 2 win team in quite some time.
