WR Play to improve in 2011

The comparison is irrelevant because of the relative opportunities each had.

Gettis & LaFell, through ability or not, were a huge focal point of our passing game and other than Smith, we haven't given any significant playing time to any other Wr on the roster. when you consider that, their numbers are pretty rank average with the opportunities they have been given.

They do NOT run great routes, they are very much rookies in this regard. This is something they should both improve in and should help them get some actual separation. However it is also the hardest thing to get down for most young receivers.

People need to forget the couple of highlight plays Gettis has had against SF, because other than those he has run some pretty sloppy routes at times.

Both have played like rookies and often relied on what might separate them from others (Gettis - Speed, LaFell - Size). The problem is now that there is significant tape on them, so their 'go to moves' will be picked on and it's up to them to progress from here.

They have shown flashes, which if they can turn consistent, then we have a great future with these two. However to think their 30 catches means anything, is just head in the sand stuff. Just look who was on the depth chart behind them...

I feel pretty good about them.

Our WRs played 5 games w/ an actual QB and they got 6 TDs. Pretty good for a running team.

at this point, any game w/ Jimmy playing should really not even be factored in to anything.

Do you pay any attention to Matt Moore's season other than the SF game? It might surprise you to see they are startlingly similar to the guy you just love to hate.

Moore isn't the only QB to get a WR into the endzone. They have gotten in every game a QB not named Clausen started (that includes BSP). I am just saying you can't evaluate WRs w/ Clausen playing.

Production isn't the same....not even close. Remember we are talking about WRs and not QBs. There has been legit positive production when QBs not named Clausen start from the WRs........and there is none w/ Clausen.
