Do you believe JR will spend money this offseason?

Looking at the the transactions made during the season, would make me think he's prepared for a lockout. Without a new CBA I doubt he does anything, until he has to.

That's what worries me about having the first pick, the owners want a rookie cap and Luck will want the bank. Giving Luck a huge contract could be considered a sign of weakness to the owners stance.

It has been stated over and over, the Hurney/JR plan is to build through the draft and make smart, economical FA moves as opposed to big splashes in FA.

We will see Thomas Davis, Deangelo Williams, and Ryan Kalil signed for sure. Charles Johnson and James Anderson I think are on the fence, and I believe Richard Marshall is gone.

If I had to guess: Luck doesn't declare, we let Marshall walk, draft Patrick Peterson, and get a mid level DT through FA.

he's already said he believes in building through the draft and NFL experts are saying all teams are looking at cheap assistant coaches instead of big names like Cowher, Gruden etc.

he'll spend money on Luck and resigning some free agents, I don't think that will include Charles Johnson or Marshall, and that'll be it.

so you think for 2 consecutive seasons they let the best player on the DL just walk out the door? That ain't smart. You let Williams walk before Johnson. We got productive RBs. We got nothing but hope or promise on the DL.

Predictions like that may come back to haunt you........ or make you a huddle psychic.

The issue isn't whether he will spend money this offseason but where he will put it. To resign his core players he will need to shell out at least 100 million in guaranteed money alone. If he doesn't sign Williams and waits on Beason he could cut it to 60 million. Then to sign a coach it will be another 3-6 million even for a coordinator. Then if you include our first rounder, draft picks, a few free agents and you are looking at a pile of money.

The question is whether he is going to make a splash and sign some big names and retain guys like Williams and Kalil to ensure the fans and PSL owners ( including suite owners and renters) don't revolt or whether he continues to go on the cheap and sign just who he has to.
