Carolina Vacation Spots

IMO a beach is a beach... I'd rather be somewhere like Wilm/Wrightsville Beach where there's other stuff to do... but then again I've always lived near the beach so it's not a big deal to me.

Key West is one of the cooler beaches Ive seen. I liked Cayman Islands and Bahamas too, but man, nothin beats being at NC beaches ur whole life and then driving to Key West for Spring Break and seeing Palm trees growing out of the sand!

I always hit Myrtle, Wilmington and Charleston every summer. MB just for the Americana itch to be scratched. It's like drinking a PBR a couple of times a year. Charleston for sites and history and Wilm for the relatives and in laws. Oh and free golf.

Jhyler, I guess I should ask what kind of beach vacation? It depends on how old you are and what type of weekend you want... If you're looking for more of a romantic weekend with just the wife, but still hit up a few places.. I'd recommend Duck, OBX. It's more laid back, low key, but has a few bars/restaurants that might be the perfect atmosphere you are looking for... If you are younger and expect to get out past 11pm and see what the night brings.. I would definitely recommend more of the Wilmington area.. a ton to do and plenty of people to mingle with.. hell, if you're looking for a low key type of adventure I could tell you a great camping spot on a sandbar near Cape Lookout, where no one will be.. Right next to the lighthouse..

There is so much to do in this state..

if I have lived in NC all of my life and never went to the outer banks does that make me a retard?

it just means you're severely deprived...

I only kid.. There is a ton of fishing and hunting I'd like to cross off my bucket list.. and when I do you'll be the first I call! (and not because you're the only one I know... alright, that might have something to do with it..)
