Perhaps JR doesn't deserve Luck but the fans surely do. We suffered through his awful season and getting Luck would take a bit of sting out of the terrible year.

His whole argument revolves around 3 points: we didn't replace Peppers, we didn't buy Fox out/fire him and Richardson is spearheading the labor dispute.

1. Charles Johnson is apparently invisible.

2. It's easy to say "eat 6 million dollars you cheap bastard" when you're not actually the one paying for anything. Fans who buy tickets can complain here, not a blogger from Yahoo who has probably never seen more than 10 minutes of highlights from a Panthers game in his life.

3. This is the only point that has some merit. Still, this doesn't mean he tanked anything, it means he's a businessman who disagrees with a labor union. There's a shocker.

I guess it's more fun to villainize the owner here, but maybe he really thought Fox, who's never had a record with less than 7 wins, would make this season a little more competitive, rather than sulking through half of it.

The writer can be proven right simply by fact it took last year to get a Panthers logo on the BofA field. He cares more for the NFL as an organization than he does the Panthers as a team.

If he wanted to prove he was a man of action...he would've made moves then. He cashed in and is just savoring the negotiations. He's just about spent his NFL-cred.
