What fans? Sensationalist Carolina fans think he's horrible. No one else's fans watch us. So no, he didn't get in on fan votes alone...especially since they are only worth a third of the vote.

No but there are numerous NFL fans who when not picking their teams will just look at the stats. They see Godfrey INT's and pick him.

Madden online at the moment is so frustrating using the Panthers(which unfortunately, I always do).. they need to increase Goodson/Gettis' speed

and is there a source for them being alternates? I've only heard Sutton say it, haven't seen the official list.

Let's be honest. Godfrey wasn't a pro bowler this year. Maybe he got in because the Strong Safety pool wasn't great in the NFC, I don't know. What I will say is that the guy is probably the most athletic player on the roster and if he continues to improve he could be great. He takes too many risks and I think he may be a little slow mentally but he's got it in him.

He hits just as well as Harris ever did and he's slightly smaller (5'11" 205) vs. (6'0 207). He's also hella fast. He just needs to get coached up and get better at the mental side of playing safety.

Godfrey was also a CB in college, I think proper coaching and some more experience will do wonders with the kid. He's been more than solid in run support and does cover ground out back. Polish up his over the top help and tackling in the open field and we will have our safeties of the future locked up with him and Martin.
