Hired in 2002, Panthers coach John Fox is finishing his ninth year with the team. And he knows that it will be his last.

In a weekly appearance with Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan of Sirius NFL Radio’s Movin’ the Chains, Fox was asked if Sunday’s game at Atlanta will be his last game with the Panthers.

Why do we listen to coach’s interviews? I mean, seriously, that entire paragraph is three cliches strung together seamlessly.

If someone said that to you in answer to a question in a job interview or business meeting, you would think that person was retarded.

These people say nothing, yet you hang on every word.

Peter King slurping coaches behinds to make sure he doesn’t lose the access needed to get the scoop from a coach that “we just have to take it one game at a time.”

Andrea Kremer breathlessly chasing a coach into a locker room at halftime to make sure she gets the incredible inside info that “we just have to play better on both sides of the ball”.

Football fans look up to these power mad ego maniacs while they look down on you and talk to you like schoolchildren.
