No he wouldn't. Clausen gets killed b/c he makes poor decisions. Carolina's OL protects just as well as most teams in the NFL. Only difference is what our QB does vs. what other QBs do. Brees, Ryan, Webb....watch any game. QBs see the same pressure Clausen does.....they just make plays instead of imploding.

It is the David Carr principle. Horrible QB play makes OL's look much worse than they actually are.

Why are people comparing Webb and AE? If anything, he's similar to Ryan Fitzpatrick. About the same height and weight, both can run but aren't necessarily running QB's. Harvard =/ UAB but they have similar playstyles.

How is Webb not a running QB like Edwards?

Webb ran for 1400 yards last season and over 1000 the season before that.

His last 2 years of college he ran for 2448 yards and 22 rushing TDs.

Yeah, but gaining a bunch of yards at App/UAB doesn't really translate to the NFL game. There's a reason Webb is the 3rd string and there's a reason Keith Null and BSP were chosen over AE (who knows, could be fox hating rookies, or maybe AE isn't fiery in the huddle, or maybe he's just not an NFL QB) Webb should have been a WR this year, they had to start him over Patrick Ramsey and Rhett Bomar.

I agree, it doesn't translate over the same. That is why Joe Webb was drafted to be a WR.....just like AE. The reason Joe is playing QB now is b/c that is the smart move. See what he has since he is on your roster and your other options are out. If Fox wasn't the coach AE likely at this point would have gotten some snaps at QB.

After Matt Moore I can't trust late season performances. The analysts were right, if the playoffs aren't on the line then I can't trust it.

But yeah he's probably better than Clausen at this point.

with Fox benching Moore in week 2 coming off a concussion week 1. We likely have no clue what kind of QB he really is.

Unconcussed he sucked balls against the Giants. He got into his own head and quit playing loose.

So he essentially is Jake Delhome. They are stellar when they are mentally in the zone otherwise they look like an undrafted QB should.

yeah, one road game against a good DL doesn't define any QB though.....especially one with a productive body for work/play.

With that logic Philly should have bailed on Kolb. They won't.

Gotta give 2003-2007 Jake credit. Prior to Tommy John he put in a career better than the majority of drafted NFL QBs.
