Correct me if I am wrong...

I'll say it right now, I haven't watched him play a single game ever, but I have watched Cam Newton, and honestly I'm not entirely sure that Cam isn't the better pick.

And for me at least the more I hear how can't miss luck is the more I'm not liking him, because I remember a lot of can't misses that were anything but.

For those that say Luck is a sure thing let me remind you that Ryan Leaf was supposed to be every bit as good as Peyton Manning.

And this is why we need to bring in a HC, OC , etc who know how to evaluate QB's. I would say the GM also but since it seems like Hurney will still be here that does make me a bit nervous because I am not sure he is qualified to do it.

I caught a lot of Stanford games & everything I've seen points to Luck is the man.

Having said that, he ain't down by the crick walkin on water. We don't even know who the coach will be next year. He might find Newton's style of play more inline with what he wants to do.

I'm not gonna be mad with either. Hell, if he talks the organization into trading down for a Walker to Vikings type deal, I'll be happy with that too.

Why would we pick up more WR talent when we have enough in the ranks? Gettis and LeFell have enough in them to be solid NFL players. What we need is a veteran capable of 1,000 yards if we lose Smith and we'll be fine. Additionally, a new coach in place could mean a new emphasis on the TE talent we have on the roster already, making the WR need less glaring if we can actually pass protect and have a QB that isn't scared to stretch the field when the time calls for it to be done.

Plus, we're going to have to give Armanti Edwards some playing time regardless considering what we gave up for him. Between Edwards, Gettis, LeFell, Smith, etc. we should have enough to make a decent to average group. Certainly not an area of need in my estimation after having invested 3 picks into that position last year.

You have to take risk in the NFL to succeed. Passing up on a Franchise QB, just b/c you have a "thought" he might bust will get you knowhere in this leauge. Matt Ryan could of been a bust and the Falcons would probably still be in the mess we are right now. But it worked out for them and noW look at where they are.

You have to take risk. Risk comes with big rewards or bigger letdowns. But Luck is the best prospect QB to come out (If he does) in the last 5-10 years. When you have the chance to draft someone of his caliber (when you have a BIG question mark at the QB position), YOU DRAFT HIM. NO EXCUSES.

Leaf is not a good example at all. He had all the physical characteristics to be a great QB, but there were some big concerns over what's between his ears. So the only thing he was compared to Manning in was the physical aspects, but most thought Manning would be better because of all the other things. And Luck is thought of more in the Manning mold than Leaf one.

Can we please stop with the comparisons of Luck to Manning, Elway, (insert other great QB's name here).

He's a nice prospect, but he has a ton of work to do to even be mentioned in the same breath as those guys

People are comparing them as collegiate prospects, not finished NFL products.

but luck faced a top 20 defense once this season.

He was 29 of 46, 241 yards, 2 scores, 2 picks.

Not saying the kid is not a legit nfl qb, but seriously, most of you are completely delusional with how much you are building him up.

yup! Lets see how he does against VATech on the 3rd.
