I don't know whether Luck is good enough to start next year for the Panthers, but I know Cam Newton isn't. He has good tools and a good arm but I don't think he can pick up an NFL playbook, he's really, really raw like someone said earlier.

I like both of them and I think both have what it takes to make it as a NFL QB...

Both can be elite QB's, just slightly different in skillsets and athleticism.

While I think if Luck declares the Panthers take him, However I don't think you would be wrong if the 49ers came up and offered the 6th/7th pick, 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder/4th rounder or something along those lines that taking the trade would be a bad thing.

Carolina has plenty of holes, QB, Oline, Dline (specificaly DT) Possibly CB, and WR.

If you can turn that first round pick into help at QB, DT, Oline or WR then I think thats something you might have to look at.

draft a pass rushing DT or two or four

sign a veteran QB who is up there like a McNabb or a Kerry Collins, whoever

sign a big time DT, the best on the market

add OL depth like in 2008

publicly execute charles godfrey

sign two solid FA receivers who can mentor the young guys like Gettis, Lafell, and the new drafted WRs

Those teams took the risk which is something you have to take. Bill Polian was torn between Ryan and Peyton but look at them now he made the right choice. i have a feeling our choice will be trade down or take Luck, hopefully we make the right choice. *cough Luck cough*

I'm interested to see how Luck fares against VT. IMO, that is a make or break game for him and Harbaugh. If Luck can look good and put up decent numbers, win or lose, he'll be the #1 and I think Harbaugh punches his ticket to Ann Arbor (not Carolina, contrary to popular belief). If Luck stinks it up or plays poorly he stays another year and so does Harbaugh.
