I am in the home automation/ AV business. I used to be an electrician and moved to AV in '03. I wire houses for network, DSS, controls, Theater, distributed audio & video. You want to see the cameras around your house from you iPhone? You want to those cam's to email you a pic of the kids as they get home everyday? Need to turn the lights, HVAC or the coffee maker on/ off when youre not there? Thats what I do...

Unfortunately, its an industry of 'wants' and not 'needs'. Id like to be on my own, but the time to start a business is not now...
