Oh I guess i could chime in here.

I'm a warehouse manager for a janitorial supply company. Currently #2 in command but have been promised the General Manager position at the end of the year.

odds are if you work anywhere downtown I'm your TP supplier.

Reminds me of a joke we used to say about the Sanitation Dept. "One man's poo is another man's bread and butter"

yup! my business is pretty much recession proof. The worst we did in the past 4 years was a 15% drop in sales, but that was after we sold one of our divisions that made up 10% of our sales.

I still contend that people use more TP when the economy tanks

Hey panthro, we're hiring sales guys if you want to sell toilet paper to pushy janitors on low margins with a shady comission matrix

I have had a lot of run-ins with shady commision plans. One place capped our commisions...very similiar to the episode on The Office.

Another said any sale of a million + we would negotiate fair compensation. I sold a 600k deal and made more than a guy who sold a 1.1 million deal.

I work in a science museum in the operations (read shipping/receiving, maintenance, general handy work) section... I oversee a fleet of vehicles, as well keep records on maintenance both for them and our building...

My job itself is rather uninteresting on most days (hence me keeping a Huddle window open most of the time), but by having this job I have access to awesome stuff like fossils, live animals, special events, and opportunities to help our scientists in field work and various in-house projects, etc...

Mostly, I'm a state employee... which means the pay isn't great but the benefits are decent...

Also, my job comes with pretty good security... That is until the state starts cutting back... (even then my position is pretty secure... hopefully)...
