Part of it is to not jinx it... the other part is I think that no matter how stupid fans think it is, I do believe he wants to graduate with a degree and with the CBA as a question mark he might just figure he'll go high next year too... perhaps he doesn't realize or doesn't care that he will go #1 this year. =|

honestly, if luck didn't declare, i think we'd be ok. it'd give us the option to trade out of the top spot and get some extra picks, and then fill our needs at defensive and offensive line.

Come on. AE is not a pro QB. He rarely made reads at ASU. If his pre-determined receiver was covered, he ran.

Armanti has a reason to be frustrated. We drafted a player who has no idea what they want and they had no idea what he can do. If Luck is not available, however, draft AJ Green and trade for Carson Palmer. Cincy will not pay him and will be in position to draft Newton or Mallett. Neither can read either.

reports out of Cincy indicate Carson isn't going anywhere so I don't know that he'd be available (and do we even want him if he is?? this season for him was near Delhomme-like!). I tend to think that is accurate... I don't think they are ready to give up on him yet, and there is no doubt in my mind that with better coaching that team would at least be in the playoff hunt right now.

We've all been pissed at someone and said something akin to, "I'm going to kill him". I doubt many of those people have actually been killed.

More on topic...it would monumentally stupid not to pick up a QB since, even if Luck doesn't declare, there are several others who could fit the bill (if not immediately then after some time sitting behind the vet that we hopefully add from somewhere because having the all rookie wonder squad at QB would be terribad) in this draft. Our penchant for making bonehead decisions kinda makes me afraid we'll do something retarded like...draft a linebacker or something but I suppose I'll cross that bridge / call that suicide hotline when we get to it.

If Luck doesn't declare, then we're in a truly shitty situation. There's no one else that anyone would be thrilled to spend the #1 overall pick on. Hell, if Luck doesn't declare, I'd probably take Peterson, the CB out of LSU. I'm not even joking. Ok people think just because we draft Lucky that he will instantly will come out and be the next Peyton Manning or just throw perfect passes in the first game of the season. IF we was to get luck. We need to get the oline back to where it needs to be protecting the QB and we need a good WR core and not just Steve Smith doing all the ****** work. Also we need to get a D that can stop the run alot more and the pass aswell. People must see that just because we draft Andrew Luck doesn't make our team a instant playoff team. Lot more to it then that. We don't know if Luck turn out to be a NFL QB or not. People thought Ryan Leaf was going to be great QB coming out of college. But he failed. Don't put all your stock into Luck so soon. The new HC and GM will do what is best for this team to make it better in the near future.

I remember back in the day, watching the Senior Bowl game, thinking, man I hope the Panthers draft anyone but this guy. Rashard Anderson I think his name was a Safety/Corner from some D2 school. And sure as fug... we drafted him.

I have correctly selected that the panthers would take Deon Grant, Peppers, Deangelo Williams, Stewart, and Dan Connor.

If Luck delcares which he will after we throw 5-6 mil a year at Jim Harbaugh, then we get the both, and the wine and cheese fanbase is restored.
