Man, I wish I could come. This is something I've always wanted to do; especially with us having the #1 pick, but I can't miss class(Im close to graduating). All of ya'll who do go, make sure to rep the Panthers right. If we reach for a pick or trade the #1 pick(if Luck is available), boo like hell lol

Also take this from someone that drives to NYC regularly to see family.

DO NOT GO NORTH ON 95.

If you're coming from Charlotte/Greensboro, find your preferred route to Roanoke then take 81 North and then 78 East. Find a nice cheap hotel in Newark and take the 2 dollar NJ transit train into the city. It's a 10 minute ride and puts you right into a subway station. My personal favorite is the Hilton attached to Newark Penn St. It has great parking and a skywalk directly to the train station.

This route will save you some time and a LOT of headaches depending on the travel day.

Why ride a bus when you can fly. Seriously if you wan to do this leave Wensday at Noon from CLT. Fly to La Guardia or Stewart field. Key is to book hotel as a group and charter the plane. If you have 100 people you are still looking at around 400 per person. hotel is going to cost you around 100-150 a night unless you get the group rate. Charter flight about $20,000. Make sure everyone that is going pays atleast a 50% deposit no refundable.

Bus is going to take to long and you spend 2 days jsut traveling instead of 3 hours down and back.

A bus will take longer, but it would also be cheaper... It doesn;t matter to me either way...

I also think it depends on how many people we can get a firm commit on quickly.... I'm guessing the number will be more around 50 people which would be $400 a person just for the flight... Or whatever a regular ticket is. From my experience and wild guess a Charter will be between $4000 and $5000 so roughly about $100 per person + Hotel.

And I'm sure we could get a good group rate for the hotel since it's non weekend, and not a busy time of the year.

I think the key is getting people who are interested, then a couple people to start coordinating everything.

Newark is a continental hub, so flights are cheaper, and there's a shuttle that takes you to the Newark Penn St hotel if you want a cheaper room outside the city.

Problem is Newark is one of the worst airports in the country as far as delays are concerned. Flown in and out of there over 20 times and not once have I been on time.

Good food court though.

$4000 wont get you much of a hotel tell for 3 nights in New York. Group rate might get you $100 per night. So thats $300 just for rooms. Im not going but plan on $500 for travel and hotels.

If you have a big enough group it is cheaper to charter the whole plane. Charlotte- Newark on Continental it would be $350 one way. Charter a airplane and it would be $25,000.

$500 sounds about right as a rough estimate... the final could be higher or lower.... That $4000 was just for the Charter bus, nothing else.
