Here is a heartbreaker for all you Luck/Harbaugh fans.

What if the 49er's go package deal? I mean could the combo decide to stay in Cali. I mean if Luck pulls a Manning and refuses to sign with us would you be willing to trade the pick? Say the 49ers draft who we want at their pick then trades their third and a future 1st would you do it? This would make a Prince Amukamara, Marcel Dareus, or Nick Fairley pick possible. Just saying stranger things have happened.

You do the same thing the Chargers did.

Draft him, anyway. Force whatever team wants him to pay through the nose if they want him that badly.

Or just tell him "it's us or nobody, and if you want to sit out, good luck getting anywhere near that #1 slot after a year off".

If/when Luck declares the Panthers are allowed to start contract negotiations with Luck and his agent. It's within the realm of possibility he could be a Panther before draft day even comes.

Well have plenty of time to consider the other.

The Panthers need to do 2 things immediately.

Sign a HC and assemble a coaching staff.

Identify what they need in the draft and proceed aggresively knowing the 1st pick overall comes with a price traditionally slightly higher than that draft slot the year before

NO HOLDOUTS from the #1 pick please.

Is it considered tampering to say "If you come out then we'll hire your coach." I guess he'd be risking his eligibility if he did that but either way we don't need to gamble on this. Its too big of a decision for the franchise. Harbaugh is considered an NFL ready coach and outside of Gruden or Cowher he is just as proven as an NFL coach as anyone else that we'd consider. Hire him the day after the Orange Bowl or before the Orange Bowl and I can almost guarantee you that Luck will be coming out.

The Panthers have been good to John Fox. He's had the 4th longest tenure and was one of the highest paid coaches. I say Harbaugh comes to the NFL. Luck has driven up his value and his brother is doing well this year. Those two things may not be the same a year or two from now. This is his time.

I think he is smart enough to recognize this. He chose to come to Panthers (2001) before why wouldn't he come here again? I've heard they should offer Harbaugh 4.5mill, he's making 1.5 now.
