if Luck stays in school and graduates with an architectural degree, at best he could use it to get a job making 50k to 75k if he's lucky. in this economy with construction in the toilet, i doubt he'd manage that. (i know, i have the same degree)

or..... he could sign a multi year, multi million dollar contract and make more in his first contract than he would in a lifetime career as an architect.

JR, SHOW HIM THE MONEY!!!!

OR he could finish school with his degree, enter the draft the following year, become a first round pick, and make moves in the engineering field after his career is done

I kind of question his commitment to football honestly if he wants a degree in something else that bad.

I know it's kind of lame for some of these guys to get degrees in studio art or communications but you know that they love football the most.

UNCC and Clemson have great architectural programs.

WTF?

hes not committed to football because he might want to stay in school and play another year of football with his team and graduate?

god forbid the kid wants to spend another year in college and not play for your team

i cant believe some of the things that I read on this board

I can kind of see your point, I'm not saying he's not committed to football because he doesn't want to come out and play for the panthers that's ridiculous.

He keeps mentioning how badly he wants to finish his major and I keep wondering why that is so important to him if football is to be his career for the next 15 years.

I haven't read anything where he says he just wants to stay in school to play football, it's always about finishing his major. I worry that football isn't his main passion in life which may lead to poor results.

He can finish his major no problem while in the NFL. UNCC has a great program for that if he wanted to transfer some credits back to Stanford.

It's very impressive that he's so bright and all that but it's getting to the point that I'm wondering just how badly he wants to be an NFL QB.

Why do you care why its important to him? He is a product of a great home and has a very successful father. He doesnt have the same values as you. Believe it or not, there are people who value education above sports, no matter what position they are put in.

Some of you sound so salty over the fact that the kid might not play for the Panthers and are trying to throw stones whatever ways that you can.

Being the number 1 pick means nothing if you continue to lose and get destroyed every other play. I bet you David Carr would give up a few million if he could have been drafted later to a team that didnt get him destroyed and kill his confidence.

Luck is a bright kid. He knows what hes doing.

And LMAO @ anyone who thinks that a Stanford student would transfer their credits to UNCC

Even though I want him on the Panthers bad; the bolded is why I wouldnt be mad at HIM if he chose to skip this years draft. He's trying to set himself up for something after football, and thats something I applaud. He could also still get his degree while playing football, though. I'd continue to be upset at JR and Hurney, instead. :coolgleamA:.

    • Speaking of quarterbacks... Wondered If perhaps he also talked about Bryce but given the source I wouldn't necessarily bet on it.
    • Yeah we have invested a bunch ot time with tight ends and it's clearly obvious they like Warren. I think they really wanted to dive into the others to see the gap personally and make a decision off that. If they feel Taylor or  1 of the other tight ends have  good upside as a 2 way tight end, they may go that route.  Warren is the only 1 right now that  shows he could be a starter bc he isn't a liability in run or pass.   They have options.  The same goes for edge. They are trying to see the gap between Walker etc and the next wave of rushers. The value may be too good to not go offense early and then go edge later if the drop aint bad. This is a true battle amongst defense n offense in the draft room and they are doing a mini process of elimination.
