The XFL

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

the XFL was amusing, but ultimately it seemed doomed to failure based on ownership... didn't seem like it was trying to be a real sport at all.

I do think there's enough interest and skilled players for two leagues, as long as one is clearly more of a developmental league, at least at the start (like the UFL now). With the amount of quality players coming out of college, there has to be a way to take advantage of more football. I hope the UFL can do what the XFL failed to.

sometimes i wonder if the XFL would've survived what would it look like today

QBs turning on their head coaches by hitting them with folding chairs, teams coming out to songs performed by the chris warren band, loser's franchise folds or their QB retires games

brett favre would be good for the XFL

I think you'd have to say Vince McMahon's ego got the best of him, there.

He really thought he could take on the NFL.

Normally I wouldnt argue with you Mr.Scot, but this is wrong. Vinnie Mac never wanted to compete with the NFL, thats why the XFL season didnt start until after the SuperBowl that year. His reasoning for starting the league? "Because people are tired of watching figure skating"... He was just attempting to put another product out there for us fans to watch. But, as Jerry Lawler said after it was over, "It wasnt WWE enough for wrestling fans and it wasnt NFL enough for football fans."... McMahon is still a genius...
