John Fox vs Tom Coughlin

Happy Panther

Recommended Posts

Fox and Coughlin are not similar

Coughlin is known as a hard disciplinarian

Fox tries to be a coach and a buddy at the same time

guess who's been more successful

No...

Coughlin was only more successful in his second coaching job. They were practically identical through 128 games.

And while Coughlin is labeled authoritarian its only for rules and regulations. in developing players he is somewhat compassionate.

Pretty similar coaches

Coughlin's success is skewed somewhat by one Super Bowl season when the team did something remarkable.

Realistically, a fair number of his seasons with the Giants have been late season swoons. His all-push, all-the-time approach lends to that.

(they come out of the gate hot, but the wear and tear takes its toll as the season goes on)

Idk but he had a better record with the jags than fox has had with the panthers. Fox is going to be 73-71 after next week btw. At least coughlin had more than 2 wins more than losses.

If you compare the first 128 games Fox was clearly better. The one extra rebuilding season going into a CBA begotiation is the only reason Fox's is worse. and still his playoff runs were better.

did you even read the initial post?

You mean the playoff game in which we get blown up by the Cardinals, who weren't even supposed to be there, at home. Which also is the same game the QB craps the bed and the same QB Fox says "gives us the best chance to win" and plays him 11 games last season despite averaging 3 INTs a game. These are the things most organizations are going to look at. The recent stuff.

Fox would be the perfect replacement for Eric Mangini.

the browns have a defense that is on the rise rather than the decline, and have a bruiser in Peyton Hillis

He would step into some success there.

Please don't do that to my beloved Browns. It took us 2-3 years to figure out that Jake sucked it took the Browns 2-3 games to decide he sucked. Jayzus for the love of God dont land there....
