Who's Gone?

Recommended Posts

Defensively:

Marshall - Watching him fall down in coverage, makes me ill.

Davis - Who? Really the only way he stays is to sign cheap.

Gamble - Paying him as a top CB was a huge mistake.

Brayton - Could stay, but like Davis he has to take a pay cut

Offensively:

Gross - His over payed/under performing days are numbered.

Bernadeu - Enough said.

Smith - He quit weeks ago.

King - Under new staff, no longer needed.

Moore - Why keep him?

Specialists:

Kasay - God bless him but you can't keep him around.

Llyod - LOL at him coming out in sweatpants to shake hands. A 2 win team can't afford to keep burning this roster spot.

Baker - If he keeps up those 30 yd punts.

Let's ignore his performance! He's old!

Let's put him on the list just because!

Old players can't play!

Wtf, who is going to be on our team next year? You don't just cut people who are under contract unless you have good reason and a good replacement.

smith (traded for a pick which would be packaged with another pick for an upgrade @ WR)

clausen (traded and packaged with a late round pick to get us back in the 2nd round)

moore

marshall

king

kasay (retired)

just what i would do.

There is no FA or trade-able WR that would be an upgrade over Steve Smith. You might as well keep your pick and select a WR to help him out.

There is no way in hell a team is going to take a late round pick and Clausen to get into the 2nd round. He is poo right now. Hell we would have to trade our 1st round pick and Clausen just to get someone's 2nd round pick, he's been that bad.

I say resign Moore, let Clausen ride the bench until he can prove he's worth the hair on my ass. Sign a vet QB and take Luck if he's there. If not, select AJ Green and have the most talented WR core in the league, or take the #1 DT and bring our defense back to elite. I think underdog pick would also be OT. Gross or Otah might be on the way out.

We've got the money to upgrade the trenches. We need a new CB, I agree Marshall will be gone. I don't doubt that Captain can do the job but we need another quality player there.

Agreed on Jeff King. No offense to the guy but Barny and Rosario should have his spot.

Really who on the list should stay? You have to cut guys because they were handed huge contracts by our FO. As far as Kasay is concerned, a 2 win team has to have a kicker than can pull double duty.

Cutting people doesn't make big contracts go away. We still have to pay people guaranteed money. There's no reason to get rid of Smith. We won't get a pick higher than a 3rd rounder in a trade. Gamble is under contract, is our best DB and we'll be SOL if him and Marshall leave. And having two kickers on the roster is the least of our problems.

you are out of your mind if you think someone's going to give us anything even close to a 2nd-rounder for clausen.

guy can dream, can't he? if he isn't worth a 2nd rounder even when packaged with another pick then why should we be stuck with him?

still think our best chance at getting rid of him is to do it soon while there might be some fool team that thinks most of his problem is just how bad the team as a whole sucked.

If Luck is selected, then a veteran QB will have to be brought in to help him develop, something Clausen didn't have.

Smith wants out and it's obvious.

Gross is not a LT and has played poorly all year.

Marshall is gone for sure.

So keeping overpriced non-performers around is the solution? That is part of the problem, these guys were paid for loyalty not performance or we would have won more. You take the hit now and rebuild for the future under a new staff. Thats just my take, I mean really I see a few guys on the field busting ass and making an effort. Also having 3 kickers on the active roster is killing the development of young players.

Really, what exactly makes that obvious? Cause he had a closed door meeting with Richardson that no one actually knows anything about? We'll draft Luck and he'll be content.

Gross is not a LT and has played poorly all year.

I agree that he has played poorly but the man has been an All-Pro at LT so I'm not sure what makes you say he's not an LT...or what other position you think he should play. We need to start looking for his successor but starting-quality LT's are very hard to find.

Marshall is gone for sure.

Probably so, but we'll need another good CB. McClain in the slot is obviously not the answer.

The only overpriced non-performer you've listed is Gross, and I think that this season is an aberration for him. Gamble may be overpriced but he's a top ten CB.

Like I said these are my opinions, the Panthers are bad for many reasons. I would disagree that Gamble is a top 10 corner and you're right McClain got abused last night.

I just think Smitty and the Panthers need to part ways, he doesn't have that leadership personality to help in a rebuilding mode.

And Gross, really... this OL as a whole is not even run blocking well, the RB are just breaking tackles.

The offense will need a total rebuild, except for the backs.

WR Corp will be fine just need to send Smitty on his way and pick up a vet 3rd receiver.
