What we don't need 60 more minutes of football to see

So what do you not need sixty more minutes of regular season football to know about this team? The good? The bad?

My own...

QB: This needs to be addressed immediately. The 18-game season is coming, as are the extended rosters. I don't think Matt Moore is in any danger of being picked up by another squad, so I would like to sign him for a cheaper rate while being able to go out and scoop up a vet FA. Draft Andrew Luck. Then come training camp let them all go out and compete for the top spot. My guess is that Pike will be cut.

RB: Our situation here is set. Re-sign DWill, which Hurney wants. The next head coach will have to not mind Skipper being the RB coach. Get it done. We don't need anything at FB that we don't have already.

WR: This is something that we can afford to wait a year to address again. LaFell and Gettis are turning out to be decent, and Smitty can still play. We need a QB that can get them the ball and a TE to terrorize the middle of the field. If Armanti can't contribute this season as a return specialist, he better be able to be a quality threat as a WR or in a Wildcat-type package. This will be at the discretion of the next coach. I like the prospect of keeping Wright and Martin also. I'm going off of the assumption still that rosters will be larger. Go get Alshon Jefferies next year. As much as I would love for AJ Green to stay close to home, I just can't justify taking him over a QB, CB, or DT.

TE: I like King but I don't see any reason for keeping him unless he'll be dirt cheap. I would much rather our 4th pick be spent on a TE while Rosario and Barnidge get out there and start getting more touches.

OL: The RG needs to be addressed immediately. I would personally want to see our 5th pick go towards the OL taking whatever is readily available. If Duke Robinson can't earn the starting RG spot, cut him. Williams and Bernadeau have been pretty bad also. Re-sign Kalil. Perhaps use our 5th round pick to get the best available offensive linemen if it's worth it. Start using leftover cap space to sign who we can attract I suppose... this is a tough situation.

DT: Sign the best available free agent, spend 3rd round pick on a top prospect (Jarvis Jenkins if available? Bowl game scouting!). Keep Landri and Neblett.

DE: Charles Johnson should be one of the first three contracts out the door. Pay the man. Brown needs to contribute next season but Hardy has been a steal. Let Brayton finish his contract and address DE next offseason.

LB: I'm feeling pretty good about our LB situation. Anderson can contribute, Beason is a beast, Connor is a great option, TD will be the "wait and see." I guess this will be something the next coach will decide on in terms of depth.

S: Martin and Godfrey are legit options imo. If Godfrey can cut back on blown plays (or as some of us like to call them, "bad guess" yea it's silly, but I suppose the silliness is in the truth of it), and tilt that more towards big plays, he can get an extension just like Charles Johnson did. Keep Marcus Hudson for special teams. We'll see what Pugh can do next season also.

CB: Let Marshall walk, and address this the same way that QB and DT have been addressed, attack it with talent. Captain Munnerlyn has played well, but even as the eternal optimist I'm still not sure I want to risk him not being able to cover elite receivers. Gamble I believe can still produce, but if we somehow cannot get Luck (or Newton), I would want to see Patrick Peterson drafted. Sign Sir Champ Bailey!! Spend late picks on CBs like we usually do and see who can make it out of training camp.

K/P: Kasay can play until he wants to leave. Baker the same.

Sign Beason for the long term. He is the leader of this team right now.

I believe that the team will spend in the future, and am kind of just sitting and waiting like the rest of us for who our next head coach will be. I hope we can nab Harbaugh and Luck. That would be amazing, especially if he ends up being better than his brother. From there, a quality staff should be put together and handed the team.

Luck has to be the first pick and your next 3 need to go to both sides of the line. The line play has been terrible this season and the team with the best QB and line play wins most games. I say luck with first round, DT with third, OL with 4th and 5th.

Charles Johnson has to be resigned. I could go either way on d will. Love the guy and own the jersey but if we used the money we saved to sign a above average CB and drafted line and QB we may be able to at least compete next season and maybe win 5-7 games
