i watched nearly the whole game and i've seen some drops, a lot of penalties on relatively big gains and collapsing pockets, if there werent any pockets at all...and yes, some terrible throws by clausen either. the thing is, it's not only on clausen. if i were a QB and i wouldnt be supported at all, my motivation were also down.

what do u expect? u try to blame a rookie QB for your fail though moore sucked the same way??? look at your playcallings (screen on 3rd&long which didnt work at all SEVERAL times), at your pass protection at some wannabe-HOF WRs who cant even catch some catchable balls and your lines who either false staring or holding...

actually the line isnt playing great. Timmons came in free and just smacked Clausen and in this same game when Smith got open, Clausen couldnt find Smith because......He was running away from pressure!!! As for what he has, he has a good arm (when he has time to throw) and is accurate, Clausen is a rookie, rookies make mistakes, Cam Newton (who people like for some reason) will make ALOT of mistakes. Luck will also play poorly with this line. I am not saying keep Clausen because if Luck is there you HAVE to take him, BUT i am not seeing why anyone wants Cam Newton who's not ready to start. Anyway, Clausen is accurate and (when he has timie) has pocket pressence, the problem, he is rushed. Clausen CLEARLY shows what he lacks which is confidence.

Your using that play as an example, but where as I can say he sacked himself at that play at the goal line. And consistently scrambles outside when he could step up in the pocket. Talking about Newton, he would actually be a better fit if your Oline sucks. Also, saw how Big Ben was turning busted plays into completions. Extending plays, shaking off tacklers. Well Newton is about in the same mold, but faster and a bigger arm. Whether or not his accuracy is the same I don't know. However, I am not trying to turn this into a Luck vs Newton discussion. Back to Clausen, one of the main talking points about was that he was "NFL" ready. Where is this NFL readiness? I don't see accuracy your talking about. He throws behind a lot on the slants, and his deep throws aren't that impressive imo. His anticipation is horrible. If he has a lack of confidence now, what happens in a playoff situation? What happens if he has competition for the job? Maybe he would have been better if he was put in a situation like the Eagles. Or New England. However that's not here. We don't need someone to develop we need someone now. Clausen isn't the answer.

it's like i said, the problem seems like it's confidence in his team, that's a problem that MAY have to be fixed by letting him go like Washington did with Jason Campbell who had NO confidence either, but like i said, Richardson BETTER get Luck or Cam Newton an offensive line and a reciever besides Smith or i see them having issues.

you wanna get the next rookie??? where is the sense? a ROOKIE wont help you, a decent o-line and some supporting cast at WR and RB would be better. and a good coach.

today, he tried to be self-confident and was sacked or screwed...

bullshit, you have a lot of time to develop someone b/c your team is in a rebuilding mode...you wont reach any playoffs next season.

Actually Moore sucked cause he made terrible decisions. Clausen sucks cause he throws terrible balls.

Newton's NOT in the mold of Big Ben, think Vince Young, he will NOT run around and get away, he is NOT going to outrun linebackers in the NFL or fight off a tackle like he did in college, i am NOT on the Newton bandwaggon, Luck however, i am!! Clausen lacks confidence and when you lack confidence you throw those type of throws, THAT is a problem that IS fixable, BUT it's only fixable by letting the guy go and start over WHICH he will do. Clausen MUST be released and he will go to Seattle or Washington and try to get confidence there. As for Luck, HE'S more of a Ben Roethlisberger.

listen, i dont want to quit on him, but it seems like the team and the fans already have, so it's like fighting a losing argument and i pretty much give up. I am a Clausen fan and think he can turn it around, but it just feels like he's gone.
