jimmy could possibly get a little better with time. matt is a just bad. makes horrible decisions when he's not crappin his pants, ie throwing to king in triple coverage. matt is not the answer.

I don't agree there.... Yes on draft day I was begging someone to pick Clausen so we wouldn't.... But considering the situation he was not a bad pick. It's only a 2nd round pick.... if he turns into a star he's a steal... a bust he's only a 2nd round pick, and it's not like we hadn't had plenty of bust drafted in the 2nd round... Dwayne Jarret... Keary Colbert, Eric Shelton and I'm sure there's more.

I don't think any of us foreseen clausen's play being this bad. Yes some analyst had him listed very low, and other teams passed on him who needed qb, but I doubt any of us saw him being this terrible.

yep. some analysts said he was a steal. doesnt hurt as a value pick to take your chances. if jr was spending money squishy face would be holding a clip board with a decent veteran under center. but under the circumstances we found out what a cherry ass rookie does when facing nfl quality d with rookie WR's and a busted O line.

I feel like you missed my point. Would you like to see the ticket stubs I have from seeing Luck play? I certainly have them. As for taking up for Clausen, well, people on here overreact. I said already I'd love to have him as a backup or 3rd stringer, he has some semblance of potential and with a new coach could be better. It's happened before, believe it or not.

I never said we shouldn't upgrade though. If it were me, I'd like to have McNabb/Newton/Clausen. Or McNabb/Luck/Clausen.

Why not? Luck might not even come out. I'm just throwin out possible vets that the panthers could pick up. I think VY's feet would bring a nice dynamic to the offense. Plus he's got a big accurate arm. He's better than what we got. I threw out McNabb to be a mentor but thinking about it now I seriously doubt he wants that role. He'd definitely want to be the starter. Those are two that probably arent going to be with their current teams next year. Who else is out there?

Can't hurt to give one of them a shot. One thing I think we all know is it couldn't be any worse than the poo we have now. I'm still not sold that Matt Moore can't be decent, but prefer that we draft Luck regardless of who we have on the roster.

putting those 3 together just seems like disaster waiting to happen on many levels.

VY is a headcase and i'm not sure i want to bother with that. in fact i'm sure i don't. i'd say he was damaged goods but it's more brain damaged. dude needs a therapist or a team and fanbase who will never criticize anything he does because he can't handle it.

mcnabb would be expensive but only good if we were going to be drafting newton and then i would mainly just want him as a mentor but i agree that he probably wouldn't want to go that route again and he'd be too expensive for that role. he's also not someone i would want leading this offense for very long. he'd be anything but a long term solution.

i've got no desire to keep clausen around. i've moved on. let him be someone else's project. only way i could see sticking with him is if we don't draft a QB in the first round and the only two i want are luck and newton. if we pass on newton and luck doesn't come out, keep clausne in there and hope for the same results so we can have a shot at him again.

as far as FAs go, this is a really bad market, but that is the case over 95% of the time. except in the rarist of situations, anyone really worthy of a starting role that you would want to consider for the long haul would already be on a team and would be outrageously expensive to acquire (if they were available at all) because you'd have to trade for them or get them after they've been franchise tagged and you'd have to give up 2 first rounders.

I dont think dude's comin out. We dont have a vet on the team other than moore. See what he did for squishy face mctiny hands. We need a solid vet for 2-3 years to protect our next investment, whoever it is, and mentor.

Even with an all star line next year I would still not trust Jimmy to lead this team

and frankly I don't want to waste another year to see if the oline was a huge factor with Clausen. Sorry but even Qb's in bad situations make things happen Jimmy has done it only twice this year.
