Letters to Jerry Richardson

SO if we bring in Harbaugh and Luck, both guys who would be rookies at their job, are you willing for us to be bad for a few years. It is only fair to expect both of them to need a learning curve and make mistakes along the way.

Or would you rather bring in an established winner and a veteran to run the show and hopefully get us back to winning quicker. Sure we draft Luck but don't expect him to start for a year. Would Jerry do that or would the cost of a first rounder force us to put him in and suffer for at least a year or two.

So you're saying a rookie head coach and a rookie quarterback have never improved a team before? Hmmm... Not the feeling I get looking around this division, but maybe just me!

Think I'll disagree. I actually think we have about the same chance of doing better sooner with a rookie coach or an old vet... an old vet is less likely to butt heads with Hurney and the guys we have here now I think, more likely to work with what we have, and less stuck on "his type of player."

my opinion anyway, but I could be wrong.

both situations could have the same outcome.. all we can do is speculate.. having a retread doesn't ensure success and having a rookie QB/Coach doesn't mean we'll suck.. of course, the opposite could be true as well..

What I would suggest to most fans (that will definitely go ignored) is to expect a few years to be bumpy.. we could start off hot in either situation, but both situations require a new system to be set in place..
