it would be the final confirmation that the team will remain spineless and overly conservative/chicken poo and i'd start thinking of what other team i can make myself want to watch instead.

Well, one draft pick will NOT change this team. The offensive line NEEDS to learn how to pass block or Luck will be on his back alot next year.

Yeah we will be better, by two or three games and THAT is if we draft Andrew Luck, he may stay in school and they may draft Cam Newton who i think will win only 3 games.

If Luck declares and we trade the #1 pick, we better have another answer at QB by then through free agency or trade. Clausen is clearly NOT the answer for the Panthers future

It would depend on what we get when we traded it away. I sure hope we don't. I'd rather us trade a quality veteran away for more picks than the #1 pick.

Teams don't really make "Herschel Walker" trades anymore because they remember the first one and they don't want to be the next team to look stupid. Thus, anyone looking for the next "Herschel Walker" trade is going to be disappointed.

But on the flip side, anyone accepting anything less than a "Herschel Walker" trade for a QB like Luck is a complete and total idiot :nonod:

Take a look at what Peyton Manning means to the Colts, and then tell me again how you'd trade that for a guard, a defensive tackle and a safety (or any other combination like that). There's no deal you can make today that would make that trade worth it.

And understand, if you trade away Andrew Luck, or you bypass him to stick with Jimmy Clausen, that same value is exactly what you'll be trading away.

Bottom Line: If Luck comes out, and we have the #1 pick and pass on him, I will lose all faith in this organization to make intelligent decisions :frown2:

Side note: if we get Luck, the NFC South as a divisional whole would be the mecca for NFL QB play. Should be fun to watch for years to come. Luck v. Brees, Luck v. Ryan, Luck v. Freeman. Just awesome.
