Wallace has collapsed lung, broken rib

Hmmm, watch the video. I see no difference in intent between Morrison hitting Gasol in the head while in the air and Bynums elbow. Different result certainly. In fact Wallace charged into Bynum.

It is not even close. Ammo actually decided to play defense while going for the ball on a 7-4 tall guy. Bynum never went for the ball and instead lead with an elbow into an airborn player. He also didn't bother to extend his free arm out and catch Wallace either.

Honestly, I hope that this catches up to Bynum and players around the league inadvertently stick him in the nads on a nightly basis.

This injury will cost the Bobs at least 2-3 wins. We will see if that is the difference between the playoffs or sitting at home.

Not dirty at all. Bynum clearly was just trying to keep Wallace from making an easy basket. At no point did Bynum swing his elbow in a striking manner or do anything that remotely looked to intentionally cause injury. All he did was throw his body at GW with his arms raised, and the elbow just happened to hit him in the wrong spot.

Flagarent, yes. Malicious, no. Bynum was just trying to make a play, not trying to hurt Gerald. So being called for a foul is appropriate, suspension is not.

ding ding ding....we have a winner...very well said. Sorry the guy got hurt, but this happens in basketball almost every game.

was this game on even in the Charlotte area? I checked every channel before hand and nothing showed Bobcats vs. Lakers....

Anyways....Big hit to are team. Honestly, Wallace has been more of a security blanket lately for us, but we need him. He is a must for a starter on any team...ouch, close your eyes and hope for the best.

Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times

Lakers center Andrew Bynum was called for a flagrant foul against Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace late in the fourth quarter Tuesday night at Staples Center.

The NBA is reviewing the flagrant foul that landed Charlotte forward Gerald Wallace in the hospital to determine if any disciplinary action should be taken.

But league officials said Wednesday that it's common practice for the NBA to review flagrant fouls.

By the way, Trevor Ariza has a bad concussion he suffered in this game after he was he was blindsided by a Juwan Howard screen.

This was a tough physical game. Not for the weak or the whiners.

The difference between what happened to Ariza and what happened to Wallace is that one was intentional and the other was just basketball. You can come here and defend your boy all you want, but he was flat out in the wrong here and those fouls don't belong in basketball.

Comparing a flagrant foul to a screen? LMAO. Do you even watch hoops? You were the same cat that was in here last night saying, "oh come on get up", like Wallace was hamming it up on that play.
