people get away with a lot of crap in here.

it does stop most of the time when it starts to get out of hand.

the big thing is the multiple threads about the same subject.

merge them all. good for the servers and good for keeping things organized.

it also helps keep us from beating too many dead horses.

i went one forum recently that only allowed one thread per day and all discussion was confined to it. For those complaining about dupe threads being merged, it could always be worse.

i don't know how it works around here but in other forums go to there are one or two mods whose duties are exclusively cleaning up forums, merging dupe threads or shutting down/deleting threads that are started by morons.

members who have multiple user IDs and cause a lot of problems, just ban their IP.

I'm sure my moderation is inconsistent... but really that's primarily due to the fact that I'm on here during my work day, posting along with everyone else, and am really only in a couple, few forums... if I see something that I think is unwarranted, I'll moderate it... if I don't see it, it doesn't get moderated by myself. Some might deem this inconsistent. I can only say if I or another Mod don't see it and it isn't brought to our attention, nothing is going to happen with it
