QB Guru on Clausen, Luck, others...

I found it very conspicuous that he never mentioned a single negative to Luck's game.

Nobody does.

Most say they can't find any. The ones who do mention something tend to say "weeeelll, I suppose there could be this, but I'm not really sure..." :sosp:

I don't think anyone assumes an automatic win. Even when one teams sucks and the other is good....divisional games can be tough (first NO game).

Carolina's starters vs. Atlanta's backups - Carolina should have the edge in that one. Not saying they win but they should win.

That would be a great situation to be in. I don't see it happening though. Clausen has not shown any sign of improving. I see Luck coming in and taking over from the start. That is if he declares and is drafted.

-is shorter in stature than listed, is actually 6'1", has smallest hands of any NFL QB, does not have physical power, to include throwing power

-struggles mechanically, has shown improvement over the season, will never have great arm quality

-lets his arm dip down during throwing motion, causing many of the batted balls at the line (cannot get away with this in pro football)

My point exactly. Next year when we're 4-10 at this point people will be trashing Luck. It's also ironic how most of his positives were Clausen's positives in two scouting reports I saw before the draft. Takes chances, throws ill-advised passes, not great arm strength. I remain to be convinced he will be any better.

you talkinig about scouting reports from NFL teams......or scouting reports for guys who work in the media?

Teams ain't that scared of a guy with a "cocky" attitude. Pretty sure teams who needed a QB passed on him prior to us b/c of what their scouting reports showed. It is showed his football game had issues most likely.

I think most NFL scouts had a good ideal about it..

with luck we'd probably have the better end of that deal. clausen has done very little to show he can be at all competant in this league.

i still say our best chance to get anything for him is to unload him during the draft.

remember with the chargers situation, they didn't get anything for brees.

I think we should take a wait and see approach with Clausen..Draft Luck and develop Clausen.

this guy may be a QB guru, but I'd like to know how Clausen faked his measurements on his hand size and height... either that, or the numbers he gave for Clausen are wrong (probably are).
