The only reason the Bears have seemingly switched places with the Queens this year is Pep.

And Urlacher being healthy.

Actually, pretty much the whole damn team staying healthy, and when a key player is hurt, getting lucky and playing a crap opponent.

Lots of lucky breaks for the Bear this year.

Teams need that, unless they are just unbelievably awesome, which this team is not.

"Julius Peppers. He's the defensive player of the year. I mean the guy gets double teamed every play..."

I remember people saying he was doubled teamed every play when he was here in Char. I'm not a hater. Pep's jersey was the only one I ever bought. But he was always inconsistant. And Bears fans were bitching about that fact earlier this year as well.

He is definately a great DE. Offenses have to plan around him. DPOY? Don't think so.

yea im bitter. hes playing damn good, just wish he gave it all like that in every game like hes doing in Chi-town when he was here. obvious he wanted out. But it is what it is. I don't have to like (and I won't), but I respect him as a great player

I did watch the games. He had some good pressures but elite DE? Nah. He's playin like it now though.

Peppers was capable of being an elite DE at any given moment, but he did not seem to be interested in being one on many plays. Perhaps it was youth, I don't know.

He's a great player and all but I think it was time for him to move on.
