Could Harbaugh fix Clausen?

You can't fix people, I don't understand why everyone is always talking about fixing players.

We couldn't fix Jake Delhomme and we can't fix Jimmy Clausen. A football player is going to play the way he knows how.

I don't know how many people watched the Broncos/Raiders game yesterday but The Golden Calf of Bristol got the start and he played the same way he did in college and he did pretty damn well to. Everyone was talking about changing his throwing motion and changing him into a pocket QB well that didn't happen and he proved that it did not need to happen yesterday.

If you are a superior athlete you will be able to play the way you are capabable of playing at any level.

I should have thought of a better word than "fix" for the thread title but not sure what exact word. Maybe I should have said can Harbaugh make us competitve with Clausen at the helm.

i'm not sure harbaugh wants to work with clausen. do i think harbaugh could help him work on some of his shortcomings? probably. do i think harbaugh could put together a system that would work well with clausen's tools and skill set? most definitely.

i just don't think that this would happen, though. more...i don't think we would get harbaugh unless we were assured luck and had the #1 overall.

i just don't see harbaugh leaving unless luck leaves and if luck leaves, he's going #1.

i'm actually more interested in getting harbaugh than luck, but i do think that they very well could be a package deal.

Clausen has been flawed like this his entire football career......you can get away with it at other levels. Nothing to fix. Clausen is an NFL backup QB.

It isn't just a rookie bad OL play like his superfans claim.....he is playing like he did in college. That doesn't work in the NFL. The only thing impressive about his college career was his stats. His play wasn't.

I think he still has some potential to be a starter in the league. I'm not sayin I am ready to hand the franchise over to him by any means. I just want to have a reason to have hope next year if he ends being the starter going into the season next year.

So what would you call what kurt warner did?

I just dont think its the end of the world if Clausen ends up being our qb of the future if we make the right head coach/offensive staff hirings. This is not my ideal scneario but a possible one that hasnt been mentioned much. Plus the local media says our front office is still very high on him.

that is my thing though....he hasn't give us a reason to believe he has that potential. I mean he has 2 TD passes.....both were bad throws to players who didn't have a defender within 10 yards of them. Other than that he checks down and throws to the sideline.......all his flaws are just magnified at the pro level.

My attitude/faith in him has gone down hill dramatically but I dont think hes gonna get worse than hes playing right now. I do however there is a chance he will improve once his supporting cast and coaching changes. How much improvement is the unknown right now.

    • Saints and Seahawks both making a push for Cooper Kupp The Rams receiver has at least two teams that are very interested in signing him. According to The Athletic, the Seahawks and Saints are both making a push to sign Kupp. The Seahawks could certainly use another receiver after trading DK Metcalf and cutting Tyler Lockett. As for the Saints, they don't have a ton of salary cap space, so it will be interesting to see if they can meet Kupp's asking price, which is apparently around $13 million or $14 million per year.
    • The intent behind the question wasn’t bad, it’s just how he framed the question was kinda goofy. I’m surprised people like him can do media professionally when they aren’t good public speakers. I wonder what he gets paid to do this.
    • Running back Kareem Hunt is returning to the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year contract worth up to $2.5 million, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Friday.   He returns to a backfield led by Isiah Pacheco that also added former San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell this week.   Hunt, 29, joined the Chiefs for his second tour with the team early in the 2024 season after they placed Isiah Pacheco on the injured reserve list. Hunt led the Chiefs in rushing with 728 yards and seven touchdowns. He also rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns in three postseason games.
