A new challenger for the #1 pick approaches: 3-11 Broncos

Coaches and players are never promised next season. How hard of a sell to the Atlanta players and staff do you think it would be to get orders from above to lose on purpose when they've had such a great season? These players play on 50% pride and 50% talent. There is no way on God's green earth that a team that has Super Bowl aspirations even REMOTELY considers the NFL draft to be even of minuscule importance in the grand scheme of things. They're trying to figure out ways to win football games, not lose them on purpose. The mere thought is an exhibition of ignorance regarding how NFL teams approach football games.

If you asked Richardson himself if he would trade the first overall pick for wins in the final two weeks of the season, he would slap you in the face for suggesting he wouldn't take the wins without even thinking twice. Same for John Fox and the coaching group. Same for everybody that has a spine enough to ever be involved with the NFL. You can't make it up there without a sac full of piss and vinegar and a total hatred for losing. That is the fuel teams use to win.

ok...

tell that to the Colts in 1998 draft.

Who knows maybe Fox will pull the unexpected stomping of a far superior opponent tradition that always happens in our down years.

he NEVER does it to traditionally good teams. he has only done it to seasonally good teams. Think Vikings as opposed to steelers or eagles or colts.

so he has no chance of beating the steelers, and no chance of beating the falcons should they not rest their starters.
