Final: Panthers 19, Cardinals 3

It won't look like much in the history books.

But for the folks involved, it meant much more than that.

The Carolina Panthers broke a seven-game losing streak with a 19-9 win over the Arizona Cardinals Sunday, moving their record to 2-12.

The win comes in what will be coach John Fox's last game in Bank of America Stadium, and guarantees that he'll leave here with a winning record. He's now 73-69 with two to play, and would have been .500 for his career if they'd have lost out.

The Panthers finish the season on the road, at Pittsburgh Thursday before the finale in Atlanta on Jan. 2.

The Panthers got this one behind another strong run game, and an unusually efficient performance by quarterback Jimmy Clausen, who threw for the Panthers only touchdown of the day to tight end Jeff King.
