At the half: Panthers 13, Cardinals 3

Well, well, well.

The Panthers look like a real live football team at the moment, and the Cardinals look like, well, the Panthers.

Carolina's up 13-3 at halftime, after a scintillating offensive display.

OK, it's really not much.

But QB Jimmy Clausen did throw a touchdown pass to a teammate, breaking a streak of 202 consecutive attempts without such a play.

TE Jeff King did the honors in the second quarter (on the first play after S Sherrod Martin's interception), slipping wide open and wandering in from 16 yards out. Clausen's last, and only other, touchdown was Oct. 3 in New Orleans.

The Cards looked completely disinterested, or just incapable, until a 12-play field goal drive just before half.

Of course, the Panthers led 14-0 in Seattle the other week before a late field goal drive, so it has happened before.
