Don't remember him throwing it longer than 15 yards this many times all year. I don't disagree that he's missed plenty of opportunities, but it seems to be an improvement over "I didn't throw it because I was scared of being intercepted."

the throws are the same though....and that is Clausen's issue. He has increased the number of times he has made the one throw he makes.

his problem is he checks down and when he rarely goes downfield he only goes to the sideline on his first read. That hasn't changed today. Instead of just doing that one thing more he needs to actually make plays downfield. The biggest part of the field is between the sidelines.....and that scares Clausen. That is why Smitty got so mad on the one play. The play called for him to be the main option (based on down/distance). Jimmy won't make the throw unless he can throw it to the sideline.
