i wish carolina nothing but the best against arizona...

Recommended Posts

i can remember my daughter playing basketball in middle school. her team lost every single game. they were horrible. they couldn't shoot. they couldn't pass. they couldn't dribble. they couldn't defend. they couldn't do anything related to basketball when it came time to play basketball.

then came playoff time. having a winning or losing record didn't matter. all the teams played for the championship.

i, along with all the other parents who stuck it out with their daughters thru what was the most ridiculous attempt at playing any sport that has ever been witnessed, expected a one and done go home and enjoy the rest of the afternoon playoff run.

but that didn't happen.

they won their first game.

then the next.

then the next.

before you know it, they were playing for the championship and playing their hearts out down to the last remaining seconds. the entire gymnasium was yelling, screaming, crying, and laughing...not because the girls were winning, but because for one day they weren't carrying the pain and aggravation of an entire season on their shoulders.

you could see it on their faces, and you couldn't help but be happy for them.

that's what i want for my carolina panthers today.

not just a win against arizona, but for them to play so well that the dirt of this season is knocked off their shoulders.

even if they lose the next 2 remaining games of the season, i want this game to be the one they remember and are proud of.

GO PANTHERS!

    • Getting any level of competition and cohesion out of this roster is a job well done.
    • Not sure if anyone else is watching this D1-AA championship game but I don't know if these receivers have NFL athleticism but they got HANDS. These boys can flat out CATCH. This is a good football game.
    • People on here are wrong all the time. I mean some of our best draft picks people didn't like initially due to various reasons. On the other hand there have been a multitude of decisions made by people who are paid very well to know what they're doing that some Panthers fans here saw as a mistake a mile away. Well look man let's put all the chips on the table. Because your grievance is particularly about the QB position. The Panthers have had only two long term starting franchise QB's in 30 years. Thirty years. Two. This fanbase has seen a hell of a lot of poor to mediocre QB play and even short lived fairy tales like the Kyle Allen win streak or going back even further Matt Moore. As far as Darnold and Mayfield goes I think they are certainly overachieving but I don't think anyone here that was critical of either of them were wrong. They both had a heaping portion of humble pie here that has served them greatly now. Mayfield in particular because when he first got here he was still a cocky idiot. Darnold at least kept his head down and did his job for the most part. But I have a hard time seeing either of them going far in the playoffs because in the midst of some of their best games I've seen the same flawed QB's. Darnold is no Nick Foles let's be real with one another here. Baker specifically looked like hot garbage against our defense in Charlotte recently. And those best teams in the playoffs have all that on film and damn well know about it too if average fans like us can see it.
