I gave pause when I bought the Smitty and D-Will jerseys

This past June I finally bit on the last D-Will and Smitty jerseys that had been on the clearance rack in Walmart for literally 6 months. The D-will jersey was the absolute last one, but I was able get a Smitty jersey for both me and my son. I don't know why, but there was a slight moment of hesitation before I laid them over the far edge of the cart. Perhaps it was the haunting presence of the non-disappearing Delhomme jerseys that actually were like a nuisance at that point, because the store manager should have known that he should have been giving them away as opposed to trying to sell them at the same price as Deangelo Williams and Steve Smith jerseys. That person obviously isn't a Panthers fan. Perhaps the Jake jerseys made me realize (if just for that split second) that nothing in life is guaranteed, especially when it comes to the business of the NFL and being a fan. But, maybe it was the football gods giving me a sign regarding the impending 2010 season. I don't know. In light of what has been transpiring of late, I just find that moment a little ironic. It tends to make me believe that two of the Panthers fans' favorite sons are inevitably changing colors in 2011.

Good choice. I'm off of the jersey-buying bandwagon right now. Only three jerseys hang in my closet today - Peppers' #90, Delhomme's #17, and Felton's #20 for the Bobcats. Triple FAIL.

in my closet is Dan Morgan and Dwill which I just bought this year. It is a premier so it's not too expensive but still around $100 bucks, so I am headed towards a double fail. Can't go wrong for the ladies with Kasay (well, the ones who we drag there who really don't give a poo) and for me, i think I need to get a Beason one but honestly I am just too scared. I mean I almost got a Smitty one right before the season and then I would be as pathetic as Chaos with his triple fail.

i dont see the big deal about wearing a players jersey after they leave the team. if it bothers you that much, the name plate comes right off.
