~ 2011 College Draft Prospects ~

How about Jimmer Fredette? A great shooter who can probably play the one and the two. Even if you see him as a questionable PG, we have Shaun Livingston who can guard the 1,2 and sometimes the 3. Should let him ease into the position.

thats not jimmer, thats adam morrison with a new identity. and we all know how that draft pick worked out

I disagree, Fredette is smaller, quicker and an entirely different player. Also a lot of people in this thread are not being realistic. I'm naming a guy who will be on the board when it's our turn to pick. Unless Kemba Walker has his leg amputated, he's not going to be available for us.

Like it or not, if we make the playoffs we will end up with someone like Fredette, Singler or someone Ive never heard of.

I went and did some research on draft prospects for this coming year. I concentrated on Centers because that is the bobcats greatest area of concern. There are four guys coming from europe and only one, Enes Kanter, is worth mentioning. All the others (with names I can't spell) are white versions of Alexis Ajinca. These guys all have great height but lack wieght and back to the rim post-play. The tend to hang around for tip-ins and even wander outside for 18 ft jump shots. There might not be a center available in the draft that is worth the cats taking. Kanter is an option, but he is more likely to be taken in the top five (he is 6'10, 240). All this leaves is the bobcats to draft bpa. fwiw.

I have been watching the BYU @ SDSA game right now and there's about 12 minutes left in the game.

First off, Fredette is legit. I can tell from watching that he will be better than someone like a Morrison. He can create off the dribble, drive to the basket, come off screens, and has range for days. He does score in spurts though. He seems to be on one right now. He has been quiet at some points but you can attribute some of that to SDSU's defense. They have been using Billy White on him, whose bigger than Fredette and also Tapley.

And Kawhi Leoard of SDSU reminds me a lot of Gerald Wallace. He is a hard nosed player and can rebound really well. He does it against bigger players as well

While I don't know about drafting Fredette for our team, I don't get all of the criticism. He's solid.

EDIT: BYU looks like they'll sweep SDSU, they are killing it from behind the arc.

I've seen a few mocks that have the Bobcats taking Fredette... would be a nice 6th man for bench scoring and so forth... I don't think they take him though.

I'm in favor of using the NO pick and trading up and taking one of the Bigs...

Much, much needed.
