PSL Trouble Guys? What's up?

Yea but you can own your home but this you will never own and also play a high price for.

The PSL contract is more in-line with leasing or renting a house. You own the right to live in the house.....as long as you pay every month's payment. You don't pay, and they evict you.

I guess the Panthers should just forgo revenue that they are contractually owed. They are a business....they have payrolls to pay....bills to pay...contracts to pay.

The only problem with it is that Fans that use to be able to afford them cant anymore because of the times. PSLs are a great idea in a good economy but are really a burden in a poor one. It just makes it hard to be a fan IMO. I think the Panthers did take the right approach to this though.

But, those PSL's were the reason we have a team. No PSL's....no team.

I can't believe people actually expect to have the right to tickets anytime they want them....but not the obligation to pay for all of them.

If you don't like PSL's, then do not buy them. You can buy single game tickets or even season tickets each season....without the PSL investment. However, you are not guaranteed the ability to get playoff tickets, or big game tickets.

Wait til people start suing the Panthers for breach of contract for that sh*tty playoff game...

LOL

Everybody in my section thought about it, believe me.

We didn't want to sue, we just wanted, all or some part, of our money back.

One could argue that we paid to see two professional football teams play.

We only saw one.

This is nothing new. In fact in previous years you had to pay for all possible playoff games ahead of time. If the Panthers lost, money was held against your ticket cost the following season. As far as some one not being able to sell his tickets, thats a load of crap. I put 2 of mine on craigslist and was covered up w/ emails

If you can't afford PSLs, then sell them. They're a luxury item and should be treated as such. The contract clearly states that if you own a PSL, you're obligated to purchase the tickets, including playoff tickets. It's not gall, it's a contract.

As for the guy who had no luck selling his, I call bullshit. Prior to the game there were lots of opportunities to unload them, up to and including scalpers outside the stadium. He had no luck because he didn't try, that's all. The media wants to stir up some crap, that's all.

And the "right thing" in this case is clearly to honor the contract you agreed to.

A contract is a contract. If you can't read it or don't understand it, then don't sign it. I have NO problem with what they are doing. These people need to just pay the $228 or whatever, however they can, if they were able to Plunk down Thousands, and I mean several Thousand to buy the PSL's, they can muster up a few hundred bucks to keep them in good standing. Then sell your PSL, they are actually sellings these days for much more then you paid for them, for sure. That is unless you just bought it this year. I know mine is at least 100% more valuable then what I paid for it. Doubling your money on any investment, in my mind is a great deal.

After reading up on it yep they got you by the balls on the PSLs. Not only do you not own anything but you must pay for all the tix every year or forfeit your license. Now I see what this is such a despised thing and why many owners wont do it to there fans.

I own a PSL. If I choose to sell that PSL I can. If I choose to abandon the PSL I can. I own it, and all I have to do to keep it is honor the terms I agreed to when I purchased it.

Yea but you can own your home but this you will never own and also play a high price for.

Try not paying your property taxes for a few years and enjoy the ride.

The only problem with it is that Fans that use to be able to afford them cant anymore because of the times. PSLs are a great idea in a good economy but are really a burden in a poor one. It just makes it hard to be a fan IMO. I think the Panthers did take the right approach to this though.

No, it's not a problem. I make a ton more now than I did when I bought them, and I can afford the tickets easier than I could in the last recession. There are other people who are hurting now and maybe need to sell because they can no longer afford them. It doesn't matter the economy, there will always be those who can buy and those who can't, and those groups change over time.

PSLs are the reason we got a unanimous vote for a football team. They made it possible to get the Panthers in the first place. They're just like season tickets, but you have to pay an up-front cost to have the privilege of getting them. If you're irresponsible, then you can forfeit them and lose the money you invested. If you're not, and you can't afford them, you can sell the PSLs to recoup your original investment (with interest!--they've certainly outperformed many stocks recently).

They're a great idea, they're actually a decent investment, and I'm looking forward to buying two more at some point.

By the way, do you actually own PSLs or are you just full of poo?
