PSL Trouble Guys? What's up?

i see nothing wrong with what they did. Its like buying a home. Its an investment the psl owners made. When you buy a home you put money down and pay a monthly mortgage payment to keep the lender from foreclosing on the property. Same thing applies here. You bought and paid for the PSL's and in the contract you are obligated to purchase tickets, regular season and playoffs, if you don't they foreclose on your investment

Really they should not make you buy the seat if they tell you you have to buy the tix. You pay money to own the seat so really it could be a law suit waiting. If you have season tix that would be understandable but if you own your damn seat you own it no matter what.

As a PSL owner, I agree with the Panthers position on this and they are being very flexible in offering reinstatement terms. Snake, if you read the contract, a PSL owner actually owns the rights to the tickets-not the seat. These rights oblige you to buy all Panthers game tickets (preseason, regular season, and post season) per the contract. Thus you only "own" the seat as long as you buy the tickets for the seat.

On another note, I can't believe anyone "forgot" to pay for the tickets. If they revoke your PSLs, then you are out the money you paid for them. On top of this, the Panthers offered pay as we play options for paying for the playoff tickets, instead of making you pay for all possible games.

After reading up on it yep they got you by the balls on the PSLs. Not only do you not own anything but you must pay for all the tix every year or forfeit your license. Now I see what this is such a despised thing and why many owners wont do it to there fans.

Yea but you can own your home but this you will never own and also play a high price for.

Personally I don't care as long as they allow you to have exclusive rights to the tickets if you don't want tickets to every game, you can always sell them, and there are many willing fans out there, I've been buying mine for the past couple of season from the same Person.

The only problem with it is that Fans that use to be able to afford them cant anymore because of the times. PSLs are a great idea in a good economy but are really a burden in a poor one. It just makes it hard to be a fan IMO. I think the Panthers did take the right approach to this though.
