indy allowed 4 td passes ALL SEASON?

Guys indy didn't play with huge leads this season. Most of the time they had last minute rallies. So saying that the colts D was playing with big leads last season isn't accurate. other than the Balt, Cincy, and second Tennessee game Indy won by a average of about 3-7 points.

Combine that stat with our Run D and you have a great combination. I do think Meeks was the best option available on the market, besides Herm whom stated he only wanted to be a DB coach if he did indeed coach again.

don't know, but they were 6th against the pass, but 24th against the run...

I'll take that along with the fact that they were 7th in points allowed and 11th in total yards.

People saying Peyton Manning is the reason their defense was good statistically... Wow. Peyton didn't have ANY help. What they scored was a result of drives. They didn't have the high powered offense they've had in years past. No running game and Peyton didn't get on his game until later in the season. Defense picked up the slack to help win final 9.

Sounds just like what we need. Our defense wasn't horrible against the run, so Foxy can still mess around with that aspect of the defense while Meeks can teach our secondary how to cover.

Our defense was among the bottom ten in the league against the rush.

Great point...Can't argue there.... The run D is the scheme and the players. The players are important...the scheme is important...the players fitting the scheme is important....the scheme fitting the players is important....the defensive coordinator making adjustments for all the previous statements is what we need. I just want to be confident that we can stop an opposing team from (a) dinking and dunking us down the field and ( consistently converting 3rd-and-FOREVER. Under Trgo's D, we had to pray the other team made mistakes in the passing game b/c we knew the good 'ol soft zone coverage crap would allow them to convert ever single time. Based on the Colts' pass D last year, we can at least hope for an improvement.

Not bad? We allowed under 60% and 6.2 yards. You want to talk dinking and dunking down the field--Indy allowed it way more than we did. That's the whole point. They didn't allow as many touchdowns as we did, so maybe they tightened up at the red zone or maybe there's a time of possession factor. But don't think that they employ a shut-them-down-HERE philosophy like Pittsburgh--teams moved the ball on them a lot.

Now only if Foxy will allow Meeks to have control of the defense. We are already better at stopping the run that the Colts so apply the defense stradegy to the pass and we have to get better. That is if Fox KEEPS HIS HEAD OUT OF DEFENSE MEETINGS and concentrate on being a HC.

So everyone thinks that the Panthers will have Trgovac's defense's ability to stop the run and Meeks' Indy defense's ability to stop the pass, and if it doesn't then it's clearly John Fox's fault.
