Steve Smith has put his house on the market...

that's definitely Steves house, what a crappy commute to go to Weddington though. As long as we get a 2nd round pick I wouldnt mind letting him go play with a good team, its going to be a while before we are there again. I would also have no problem with paying him 7-8 million a year to play here so whatever works for steve works for me

You've still got to wonder though, why sell a house like that, regardless of when it went on the market?

Something's not right, and if we know Smitty, there's no way he's been happy about this. I just wish someone would say something definitive... I just have a feeling he's gone, and we're not gonna be happy with what we get back.

And I agree, if he goes, we're gonna suck for years to come. It'll be a sad day in Panther nation.

This is easy to verify. You should be able to pull Steve Smith's address via tax records and then check MLS. I know in SC, all tax records are public. Not sure in NC.

I don't doubt that it is true but I also seriously doubt he will leave. Who else is going to pay the kind of money he wants? Is he really worth $7 million now? I would love for Steve Smith to retire a Panther, but if he is going to throw tantrums every time he doesn't get thrown to then let him leave. I am over his pouting and moping around the field. We are rebuilding, embrace it or don't let the door hit you in the back. He talks a big game about wanting to be a #2 receiver now, but he does very little to mentor the new talent.

Smith had already made the comment (I think last year) that he's happy here, has no desire to leave and wants to retire as a Panther.

Things can change (especially after a year like this) but he's on record as saying he wants to finish up here and hasn't made any public comments to the contrary since.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for... But, in this season of Panthers and Bobcats failures, I just think things are too quiet to get comfortable.
