Back Pain Question

I have an l5/s1 disc bulge/pinched nerve and it causes my whole leg/toes to go numb. Unless you get tingling or numbness I doubt it is pinched.

I get both. In the top right of my back. It tingles and gets numb right before it starts to hurt like a motherfuger.

L4/L5 and L5/S1...both bulged badly...spent a couple years with so much pain and immobility that there were many times I had to get my wife to help me put on my socks.

The upper body thing that Boo is suffering from...very similar to what I did to myself last year. I bet she has had it for years and it was misdiagnosed as muscle issues...when in reality the muscles were sore from compensating for the nerve pinch.

tai chi.

i am 100% serious

classes are usually fairly cheap (as opposed to martial arts classes, which are often offered by the same place but are considerably more expensive) and you should be able to find plenty of locations. if you live in the greensboro area i can recommend one. holistic healing has become a cliched pop psychobabble term, but it's the closest thing to describing what tai chi does for you.

check it out, i promise you it'll be worth your time.

I would go the PT and Orthopod route, not a big chiro guy.

Also, strengthening supporting muscles (gut, glutes, hammies, etc.) makes a huge difference.

After fracturing 2 vertebrae L1 L2 and slipping the disc in between, I got the pleasure of wearing a friggin corset for 1 year followed by the admonition that...as long as I kept my supporting muscles strong, I would be pain free. Let it slide, and I'd be back in his office.

Truer words were never spoken.

So, I switched chairs with this girl who is only part time cuz her chair is way better than mine and thats not making a difference.

Right now, for example, Im feeling tingling mixed in with extreme pain. Radiating pain, not on and off, but constant.

fuging hate this!!!!!:incazzato::mad2:

Changes won't result in instantaneous relief ... at least most of them won't, even chiropractic.
