I really don't understand why everybody is so dead set against Rob Ryan. It's not his fault that he would up in Oakland and Cleveland and never had the players that his brother did. Being a HC is not about where your offense or defense ranked in the past either. There have been some great coordinators that couldn't succeed as HC's and visa versa.

I wouldn't say I'm dead set against it, just not excited about it (other than for entertainment potential).

I've gone on record as saying he's got a good chance at being coordinator, he or Manusky. With the relative lack of media here, being this otentatious isn't a huge factor. Same with a Childress, who's a bit of a dick. If he can learn from his MN mistakes and not sell out his players, the rest isn't that big a deal.

Manusky might be safer, but he's never run a 4-3.

We heard they'd narrow it down to a couple candidates, right? Sounds like Rivera is one of those two.

Happy for my team..Im on the Ron Rivera Bandwagon.... I think he is a great fit for the team. We didnt get Harbaugh and we aint going to get Luck. We can at least get Rivera...

the thing i like about riveria is that he's shown the ability to adapt from the 3-4 to the 4-3 & be good at both. i think we keep the 4-3 base but show 3-4 at times depending on the opponent & situation

I think he could introduce more change-up fronts in the 4-3, over/under style which could be good with Davis & Beason

Rivera as head coach with Ryan as DC could certainly be fun to watch.

Given that Rivera played for Ryan's dad, it's not really a stretch to believe it could happen.

Rivera's a high intensity guy who will chew people out, but won't do it just to put on a show. He's been successful wherever he's been and has shown adaptability. Being in SD he's also seen the importance of a good offense.

I think it's down the him and Fewell.

Yeah thats true Mr.Scot but I believe we will catch a break.Marty and Rivera have ties with each other.So I believe we will sign him by the end of the week.But i wonder when will they start contract talks.I hope soon.

I am looking forward more to finding out who will be OC and also who will be brought in to work with QB development. That is the key in my opinion. I would like to get someone who will be able to "get the most" out of the talent we have.
