I understand the desire to get things done quickly.

The thing about it is though, moving quickly means that your candidate pool will consist of guys coaching units on teams that didn't make the playoffs.

Is that the wisest move?

no.

you choose from as many candidates as possible to make sure you have the best coach possible. choosing from the scrap pile that didn't make it to the playoffs this year limits us immensely.

It seems like fewell maybe the favorite now.

I can promise you from conversations with folks up and down the building, Fewell is a very serious candidate here, and possibly a favorite.

Wow it was kind of a shocker. I was leaning towards more of Ron Rivera and Rob Ryan.

I think this direction is idiotic. Let's take a look at the candidates:

Ron Rivera - His defense was first last year, has interviewed a few times for head coaching jobs, and knows a ton of different defenses.

Rob Ryan - Exciting. Verbal. Charismatic. And players love him. Comes from a long line of coaching.

Perry Fewell - Fox 2.0. Richardson said he wanted back-to-back winning seasons. Fox 2.0 would be full of inconsistency.

Manusky - Who is this guy again?

Obviously two of these four candidates are as qualified as the rest. I'll let you figure out which ones.

i don't go to the twitter page. i use the twirl application on my PC for keeping up with twitter. all new tweets pop up on my screen and i have a box right there to respond if i want.

considering he's already had the job, i would say he's more ready than the other two guys. doesn't mean he's more qualified, though.
