I just don't understand how we're not front and center in the fight for Harbaugh. Anything that increases the chance of Luck wanting to come here should be priority #1.

From what I'm reading, it sounds like it's because he wants the kind of deal the Seahawks gave Pete Carroll, and that's a level of control the Panthers just aren't comfortable with (especially in a first time NFL head coach).

Worth remembering that Carroll had been an NFL head coach before.

Yeah, and he was not very good at it. Again though I look back at Hurney's track record... and minus Peppers, who was a sure thing... we have not been super great. We went 2-14 with "rookies" at every skill position. I dont care anymore I really dont. But it is a huge mistake to not be out in front for Harbaugh. I am pretty sure that according to McShay people would not want to play for Harbaugh if he drafted luck is pure BS. Here is why. (Keep in mind I dont give a fug about Clausen)

If Im Jon Beason and we get a new fired up HC who wants to win, and drafts a dude hes known, Im all for it. I just got a hole stomped in my ass during a 2-14 season, and I know that QB play wins games in the NFL. So I say, bring em both in, turn this club around and lets go win a bunch of shiney silver trophies.

Word that Baalke is the 49ers GM, but Harbaugh has stated he's willing to work with him.

Expect Harbaugh to be 49ers coach as soon as they can get through the interviews.
