The Next Head Coach

Mr. Scot

So after the presser today, I'm of the belief that we aren't going to be getting Harbaugh.

Mind you, I don't buy the story that he hasn't been considered or talked to. Reading between the lines, I think the real snag is that he wants more control than the Panthers are willing to give him (or any other coach, for that matter).

My second choice would be Rivera, with whom the Panthers are trying to schedule an interview.

yep

Rivera or bust now.

If it's Grimm I might kill myself.

If it's Fewwel I will just not care.

If it's some no name, I might actually be excited.

Take this for what it's worth.

If the Panthers don't bring in anyone other than the guys they've currently lined up, they will have interviewed only minority candidates.

(going a step further than the Rooney Rule, I suppose)

My take: There will be another candidate. Maybe Arians (ugh) but we'll see.

honestly if u think about it what is the point of even hiring a head coach with what Jerry was saying? half of our team has no contracts and jerry won't resign anyone until a cba is signed, and he is pretty pessimistic about a cba being signed.

It's actually pretty depressing.

ZZZZZzzzzz

PFT had him being fired last year (link) but it didn't happen.

From the article...

Arians was criticized for not building a consistent running attack in Pittsburgh, but the passing game was among the league’s best. We doubt Arians would have been criticized so much if the Pittsburgh defense didn’t give up 101 more points in 2009 than 2008.

Two minorities and a guy named "Arians". Heck of a mix, eh?
